Welcome to Canolfan y Chweched

Here at Ysgol Brynhyfryd’s Canolfan y Chweched, we aim to create a purposeful and supportive environment that gives all our students the best possible chance to achieve success.

The Sixth Form Centre provides a high quality education with enrichment opportunities for all, with a welcoming and vibrant community, which allows our students to thrive.

We are committed to encouraging the full potential of all our students so they can leave us as well-rounded individuals, who are prepared for the exciting opportunities that present themselves beyond A-Levels.

The Sixth Form Centre actively promotes positive attitudes in our community, which will be evident in our students’ approach to their studies, and the wider life of the school.

Due to the student-centric and dynamic nature of our Sixth Form, activities and societies change every year, as our dedicated prefects lead them.

Over the years, our enrichment activities have included the Debating Society, Charity Committee, Mindfulness Sessions, and our powerful Environment Committee.

Each student in Year 12 has the opportunity to undertake a role within the school’s community, as subject ambassadors, peer mentors, and reading buddies.

On-going workshops and a programme of support for UCAS applications and life beyond the Sixth Form Centre centres around inviting experienced professional speakers from outside the school to help with knowledge about careers, opportunities and the UCAS process.
